About: Josh & Kate

Hi, we’re the people behind JK Collective.

We're Josh Cubbin and Kate Conrick, the Canberra-based design duo with projects ranging from identities, logos, illustration and interior fit-outs to packaging, print and web. We began working together in 2006, while studying together at the University of Canberra.

Josh & Kate received awards including Professionalism in Production & Presentation, and Excellence in Design Process during the 2009 University of Canberra Graduating Exhibition, and were both featured in the BESTOF 2009 exhibition, at the Gallery of Australian Design. Kate has also been featured in the Australian illustration book Curvy, 2009.

Kate:

Kate's primary skills lie in illustration, pattern design and playful branding, although she is currently cementing her skills in web design by doing a stint as a Developer at ZOO. Kate likes to handle paperwork, forms and website functionality, and has been known to bake copious amounts of gourmet cupcakes.

Josh:

Josh's talents focus on overall branding and art direction, combined with bold typography and powerful colour. He has been the mastermind behind brands such as SubUrban, Lexington Music and Kickstart, and a driving force behind the overall tone of the Collective work. Josh has a strong interest in Game and Interactive design in Australia and Internationally, and would love the opportunity to work more closely in both!

Collective:

The elaborate and often fanciful elements of Kate's work combine with the bolder elements of Josh's design and direction to produce a unique body of work.
